We study the cognitive, computational and neural mechanisms of social learning and decision-making.
How do people learn which of their actions help themselves and others?
How willing are people to put in effort to help themselves and others?
How do we understand other people’s actions and intentions?
How does social learning and decision-making change across the lifespan and in psychiatric and neurological disorders?
Our lab uses behavioural paradigms, computational modelling, neuroimaging and patient studies to tackle these questions. The lab is led by Prof. Patricia Lockwood and is based at the Centre for Human Brain Health and Institute for Mental Health, University of Birmingham.
